Understanding Mathematics with Problem Posing

In learning that has lasted for centuries, the teacher explained verbally, while the students are asked to listen to the ceremony. Next, students are asked to memory many of the teachers. Fear of time specified in the curriculum is not complete. Learning that the students change. Students to be limited in the classroom and to narrow their thought patterns. Moreover, in the mathematics lessons, students are taught only imagine with the examples, without real evidence is shown. Generally, the less the students not interested in how to teach and learn mathematics using the conventional way. Discomfort of the students in mathematics lessons because the teacher is not able to teach mathematics in professional materials.

In other words, teachers can not / do not use the teaching of mathematics that can increase interest or motivation of students to do and learn.

Learning is actually determined by the teaching strategies that teachers of mathematics. Therefore, how teachers are taught the steps that are designed / made of teachers in the teaching-learning process that influenced students' interest towards the subjects.

Teachers are professional teachers who are always thinking will be taken where children didiknya, and with what didiknya directing children to achieve the desired results with a variety of innovations pembelajarannya.

Model of learning in mathematics can build interest and understanding level of students when learning models developed innovative. For example, through the Cooperative learning and contextual teaching and learning (CTL).

One strategy is to use contextual learning approach "Posing problem." Namely, learning that emphasize the students to form matter. Information that is processed in the mind. And after the familiar, the students will be able to create a question (problem), causing terbentuknya a more solid understanding on the students themselves. Activities that will make the students to actively learn mengonstruksi results.

The steps of using the approach Posing problem is as follows:

1.Teachers convey the purpose of learning.
2.Teachers form groups of 4-5 persons has a plural, both the ability and gender. Then,
3.Teachers share the material to be different, but still in the same concept.
4.Teachers ask their students to make two problems out of the material that has been distributed on the problem Posing I.
5.Discussion groups of students to seek a settlement of a matter that has been made on the problem I have Posing.
6.Each group write one or two problems which can not be completed by the group in the problem Posing II and exchanged on other groups in a sequence or zig-zag, aturannya is up to the teachers.
7.Individual groups have discussed the results / settlement of the problem Posing II.
8.Appoint a group of teachers to present the results of the sum telahm done and read the problem can not be solved in the group. Other groups, as the hearings have the right to deny, ask questions and give feedback, so that learning takes place warm and teachers play a role only as a moderator.
9.Discuss the class discusses the problem of the problem Posing I.
10.Teachers and students make a conclusion.
11.Teachers give the task of the house.

That is one model among the various models of innovative learning. There are still many other models. This was our praktikkan and we write research reports as class action (PTK). Result, the class come alive and students are very interested and motivated in learning.
